Tail

As I sat down at noon today,
a tear ran down my cheek.

In its own form it felt
heavy as stone,
relieving as confession
and as deep as the seven seas.
It was the most beautiful feeling
I have felt in a long time.

As I sat there
          -with the wind gone-
silence was around,
and I could hear
 my heartbeat,
          pounding
as my life's metronome.

In that moment I knew
A time would soon come
and all would make sense
                         to me
